This road is hard

The path stretches out, a ribbon of gray,

Beneath a sky where shadows play.

A larger form, with fur so deep,

Bends low where smaller creatures creep.

"This road is hard," the soft words sigh,

"This journey long beneath the sky,

But fear not, little one, don't fret,

For we are not alone, not yet."

A tiny nose, a whisker twitch,

A silent trust within their niche.

"For you are here," the larger says,

Through sunlit hours and hazy days.

"And I'm with you," a gentle sound,

Where solace on this path is found.

Two figures small against the green,

A quiet strength in what is seen.

Through tall, thin grasses they will roam,

Together finding their way home.

The long, hard road may test their might,

But in each other, there's guiding light.
